After 2022, wearTell is carrying out the project "Smart Monitoring" for the second consecutive year in cooperation with the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid. The goal of this year's project is to test wearTell's acoustic sensing technology in the respective injection molding processes of the individual project participants in order to directly achieve valuable results in their respective application fields. Possible application fields include
- Tool wear detection
- Detection of production defects (e.g., venting issues, flash)
- wear detection on injection molding machines (e.g., backflow prevention, lubrication conditions on tie bars, etc.)
- Measurement of multiple flow fronts or cavities of different sizes
- Damage detection in and on the tool (e.g., crack or fracture detection)
- Wear detection in needle shut-off and nozzle systems
